It depends on the species of hardwood, but in our area oak hardwood flooring is about $8.50 a sf where this is about double that. Since this was an exterior application, we did not have the option of hardwood.

Stamped concrete is available in a wide variety of colors and can be used indoors and outdoors. Once the concrete is sealed, the floor is very easy to clean.

Thanks for getting back to me.
We did end up going w/stamped concrete in our lower level rec/guest area. To "warm up" the look/feel and minimize "SLIP" situations for young/old- I'm adding area rugs.

I love how it looks like wood and can be a great transition from real hardwood floors which, is my current concern and challenge. Plus I have boys and big dogs so, love the durability!!!

Kind of like the wood plank look - Emily is not yet on board.
In our area, coastal North Carolina, stamped concrete is about $11 a square foot. The price of acid staining varies depending on the amount of square footage, but averages about $6 a square foot.
