We used soapstone and did not treat with mineral oil.

Hello, is it possible to see the front of the island to see how it's configured? The kitchen is laid out exactly how ours will be, including the sink and stools, and I'd love to see how you designed the front of the island.

Hi Madeline! Thanks for the question. We used a natural Calacatta marble stone on the island. The perimeter counter surfaces are soapstone.
