Alexandria Timeless Kitchen Addition Traditional Kitchen, DC Metro

An exterior addition was added to this house to add space to the kitchen, family room, and master bedroom above. The new space incorporated a load bearing beam hidden behind columns and custom cabinetry to span the new space. Unique plumbing challenges were met with a seamless subway tile backsplash and custom depth spice storage bellow. Slide in range, open glass refrigeration, and convection microwave still met the clients updated needs. The coffered ceiling blend the new family room into the kitchen while hiding the load bearing elements. Overall the new timeless design blends with the couples existing furnishings while allowing them to entertain guests and family.

It may also be Vintage White or possibly Alaska White. All very similar - but at the same time each slab is so different.

It looks more like a light slab of African Rainbow. Too much yellow/green and "strings" of darks.. whereas kashmir white is more dotted and subtle.

I love the pattern on this stone countertop. Since I am remodeling my kitchen, I am wondering how to find the best materials to use for it. I will definitely have to find a stone countertop that is this same color since it will match the cabinets I've picked out perfectly. http://www.artisangm.com/other-natural-stone

This was a Kashmir White but with natural stone you really need to go look at the slabs at a local supplier. Stone color changes/varies from lot to lot with a natural stone. I'd recommend taking a sample of your cabinetry and flooring with you to select the best option that's cohesive with the design. I hope that helps!

This was a particularly white lot for the color and purchased roughly 5 years ago. I recommend going to a local stone yard and looking to see what they offer to find a color that works with your design.

thanks, was it Lancaster Whitewash? Also, what color is on the ceilings. does it have a tint of Blue?..have a re-do on a home that has 8 ft. ceilings, and need to make the ceilings appear taller?

I would definitely consider tile for longevity if the space gets much use. Its both functional and aesthetic.

This project was completed over 10 years ago, I no longer have that detail. There are several good off/white creams in BM and SW you could use.

I don't have the rights to authorize access to the photo in that format. You could certainly link to this houzz but the rights to use the actual photo are primarily owned by my prior employer who agreed to give me rights of use in my exit contract. Hope that helps!

I no longer have this information. I would look at a soft yellow and mock up a couple poster boards since its a more challenging color. I like BM historic colors the best.

I believe this was kashmir white - you'll find a fair amount of variation between different lots of granite. This was installed over 5 years ago so the current slabs available in that color may not look like this. Hope that helps!

These are parchment color as per the cabinetry line (Hampshire). Its a custom color to them. Hope that helps!

I don't have the specific cost for that item and it differs depending on region and scope of the work. This was an addition so there was more than just a load bearign wall in the contruction cost/scope of work. Generally anywhere from 5k-10k depending on loads and if a steal beam is required along with engineerign drawings. Hope that helps!
