Te wet location rated led strip lighting used behind this mirror was mounted to a support structure behind mirror. The mirror and lights were two separate things, so you could use any mirror. Good luck with your project.

Yes, recessing helps...the further the better. However, with shiny things next to shiny things it's virtually impossible to eliminate reflections from all angles. If you're very concerned about dots, lensing the fixture or using a fixture that doesn't show any dots are both options. There are ways to detail this to eliminate the reflections, but it does get a bit complicated. Mock ups always help you understand how everything works together to eliminate the unknowns.

From what I can tell the mirror was about 3' tall (it was done by Jena Barker, the interior designer). I looked at the archive drawings and this mirror was about 8' wide. I think you could stay in this 36-32" tall range and get a really similar look. Good luck!
