I'm interested in these pulls also. The 2 different sizes are a great idea. What sizes and model(s) did you use?

Marble kitchen edge - We are looking at putting a Calcutta marble counter on our kitchen counters. It's a 2cm I was told they were going to put a "laminated edge" to make it look thicker. What does that mean? Is it still all marble?

Hello. The countertops on the perimeter are 1 1/4" (not mitered). I would suggest if you are using 1 1/4" thick slabs then no mitering would look great however if you are using 3/4`` thick marble slabs then I would recommend mitering them all instead of laminating them. The lamination line can be quite visible on marble so we try and avoid that.

Grout colour? - What is the brand / colour name of the grout used on this tile? It appears grey but curious for more specifics - hard to tell in a photo but I love this look and appreciate it would be easier to keep clean in a shower than white grout.

I would also love to know the grout color. Striking but not too obvious.

You can also apply a grout colorant to new or old grout to change its color. It is basically a stain for grout and you can choose from a variety of colors.

You mentioned a grout colorant and I'm wondering your experience with it? I recently put in a new bath with white subway tile and the contractor used a taupe grout. I wanted a pure white look and am so unhappy with it. I'm exploring grout stain but don't know anyone who has used it. Any feedback would be helpful.

Cabinet paint color - Hi Rebekah, I'm a huge fan of this kitchen and your work in general. I'm hoping you could tell me what paint color and brand you used for the cabinets. I'm also curious what type of "freezer box" hardware you used on the cabinets above the fridge and in the laundry/pantry room. Im remodeling my kitchen at the moment and looking to incorporate these ideas. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the kind words. They're from an unusual source - autohardware.com. They're stainless steel strap hinges. They have a few options. The paint color for the cabinets is a custom ivory with a glaze, it doesn't translate to any specific paint color, sorry.

Who makes your cabinets?
I love the combination of full overlay base cabinets and inset wall cabinets.

48" range - I notice that you use Wolf ranges in many of your projects. I am looking at the GE Monogram 48" dual fuel range with grill and griddle. Also, looking at the Monogram fridge, dishwasher, etc. Do you have an opinion/advice on any of the Monogram appliances?

Quick question...on the cabinets is that a larger center panel groove? - Quick question...on the cabinets is that a larger center panel groove? And is the stile and rail larger than most raised panels? I love the look of the inset cabinets with that style design. What width is the center panel groove? Thank you!!

Can you tell me what the style number is for the cabinet hardware? - I know you said it was Deltana, but I am looking for a match. I am trying to decide between pulls like this, or knobs for cabinets and cup hooks for drawers. This beautiful kitchen is similar to what we'll be doing.

How is the marine edge constructed? How was your fabricator able to hide the transition line? I'm obsessed with the look of it, but it seems to be a really rare edge and my fabricator is having trouble figuring out how it's made! Many thanks!

White kitchens need some gentle color to keep them from appearing to be too sterile. The darker grout color used with this tile eases the transitions between the darker woodwork, appliances and light fixtures. This white kitchen looks more welcoming and that's partially as a result of the grout color used on the walls.

Marine edge. This is profile is more often seen on stainless steel countertops. It’s a built-up thickness, but rather than mitered, the outside edge is raised. I’m assuming the term “marine edge” refers to how this detail keeps liquids from running off the countertop. Make sure your countertop pro is capable of doing this edge before you commit

Consider glass-fronted cabinetry. If you’re thinking about replacing your cabinets, you may want to consider glass-fronted cabinetry. It will turn your dishware into a display, and help the space feel more open and airy.

These old-fashioned window sash–style pulls add vintage flair. Mixing sizes and profiles adds to the eclectic vibe in this kitchen.
Joni Hilton added this to Get a Grip on Kitchen Cabinets With the Right Knobs and Pulls
Window Sash PullsWhat they are: Pulls based on window sash fittings, designed to lift heavy windows in the early 1900s during the transitional period. Just look how smart black hardware looks against the white wood and subway tiles in this kitchen. These are window-sash-style pulls, the homey comfort food of cabinetry hardware. They take us back to an old-fashioned era when window fittings were smooth and simple, with softly rounded handles. These industrial-feeling pulls are a blend of colonial and Arts and Crafts, and come in a wide variety of finishes. While these black ones are a good choice with the black appliances and lighting, don’t feel your knobs must match all the finishes in your kitchen; it’s OK to mix things up. Just don’t mix the knobs and hinges on the same door; those definitely should be coordinated so one doesn’t detract from the other.Pros: Easy to grip, nostalgicCons: Works with only a handful of stylesThey’re good for you if: You need a firm grip to open drawers and doors.Styles they work with: Traditional, Arts and Crafts, colonial, country, vintage
