It really depends on the type and complexity of your exposed ceiling.
A ceiling is generally one flat piece that face downwards. It is more difficult for dust to settle on a downward surface vs. an upward surface (like a floor). If your exposed ceiling consists of just the bottom side of a roof and a few beams, then an occasional cleaning will suffice, like any ceiling. Follow the instructions in the link below.
However, exposed ceilings and pipes (as seen in the pictures) are very difficult. However often you dust, that is how often you will can/need to dust your ceiling. Imagine all those upward surfaces on the pipes and air ducts and wires and ... who knows what else. The level of difficulty increases with the height of the ceiling.
