Thank you - it's gorgeous! Are the island planks also solid or veneer?

What colour of stain did you put on the oak desk?

Question for Venegas & Co -- how would you classify this kitchen -- contemporary with a twist of traditional? The lights seem a bit traditional and so does the floor, but then the cabinets are more modern? I was going for a purely modern look in my kitchen but after seeing these pics I'm wondering if I should rethink. I'm definitely doing rift cut white oak (and love your proprietary color!)

Yes, I would love this color of stain for our new wood cabinets. They have not been made yet. Which wood should I ask for so that they look just like this one.

Thanks,

Lisa

Thank you for your interest. Premier Custom Built made these cabinets for us. They are a premium white oak, quarter sawn with flek. The stain is a proprietary stain that does hold up in areas - giving the affect of a ticnture.

Elsewhere the photo says rift cut. Can you verify if this is quarter sawn or rift cut? Thank you!

Ethan Allen had a very similar glass pendant in the latest HGTV Dream House (that I didn't win!), but now I don't see it on their website. It was a simple, large garden cloche, fitted with a bulb. Gorgeous.

Thank you for your inquiry! This is one of our showroom displays and we LOVE these fixtures. These are antique cloches sourced from a local antique dealer. We have recently partnered with Lucia Lighting & Design (www.lucialighting.com) and a local glass blower to have them made for our client! You can contact them directly and order any size and quantity you need! 781.595.0026

Stain and cut clarification-Venegas and Co. - The picture says rift cut but the comments say quarter cut. Could you please clarify? Also, is it possible for you to formulate this stain and purchase this from you? I live in TX and we’re starting a new construction soon.

Hi Jennifer- The wood is rift-cut white oak and unfortunately, no, the stain cannot be purchased separately.

Yes, this is actually one of our showroom displays! The finish on the wall is Ben Moore's "Coastal Fog" AC-1. Good luck with your project!

Please tell me the closest color stain to what's on the cabinet - I am having new rift & quartersawn floors laid in my apartment this week. The color of the stain on the cabinet is my dream come true. I am in NYC. Can you please please tell me what the closet color stain to this proprietary colori is?

All of our finishes are formulated in the factory and have a multi-step process. Unfortunately I cannot equate this to a store bought stain. Maybe you can show this to your flooring person and they can make a recommendation for color match? Good luck!

Thank you for your inquiry! We designed this entire kitchen here at Venegas and Company and it was built by one of our cabinet makers, Premier Custom Built. The entire island surround was actually built as one complete piece. The "leg insert" as you mention was a custom piece.

Thank you so much! This is a display in our showroom and currently the only image we have! This particular cabinetry was built by Premier Custom Built for us. It is a stained rift-cut white oak. If you're in the Boston area you are welcome to stop by and see the cabinetry in person!

KitchenLab Interiors added this to Elements of a Modern Country Kitchen
Horizontal wide-plank paneling on the back of this island gives it a modern-country feel, along with the oversized bell-jar pendants. There's such a relaxed and calm feel to this kitchen.
