A Mid-century Modern Gem
This house is a true mid-century modern gem! The cabinetry had to work well within the flow, while creating a separation in the living space without taking away from the open, airy concept. This was achieved by leveraging mostly lower cabinets. A plethora of storage space was made possible by the double cabinetry wall - one facing the kitchen and featuring the oven and fridge, while the other was made part of the living room space and showcased a taller tier of cabinetry. The upper, adjacent cabinet was fitted with metal framed glass doors and integrated light strips to break up the wood grain and tie in with some of the stainless steel appliance elements.
Since the fronts are made from high end textured laminate, the strategic precision cuts were made to have a continuous flow of the grain print.
To separate the wood grain from the floor and the cabinetry, toe kicks were made from flat matte white laminate, giving it a contrasting break.
Lastly - the seating nook off of the kitchen was outfitted with the same finishes, seamlessly incorporating the space into one.
