This was a full kitchen renovation project in a history-rich home, downtown Highland Park. It was a unique challenge designing a modern set up which would fit an old home, full of character and elegance. Although this is a closed off space, by using whites, glossy surfaces, and recreating an original opening above the sink - this kitchen is bright and inviting. The black and white theme lives throughout, creating a sense of harmony and cohesiveness. All the doors and drawers are either push-to-open, or have integrated profile handles. Black panels, trim and toe-kicks, help bring contrast, depth and visual balance to each wall. The floor tile compliments to the cabinetry; pay close attention to the transition from the sunken dining area to the kitchen.
