“This house is totally inappropriate and inconvenient for someone, like me, who wants to age in place in it. I want it accessible front and back, kitchen, both bathrooms and all the bedrooms so I can stay here as long as the body holds out.” Such was the goal of this whole house remodel. Without expanding on the 1174 square foot space foundation, the interior was designed to feel larger by taking wasted space from some areas for much needed space in others. A useless nook in the kitchen and two small closets added enough square footage to the master bath to make it completely wheel chair accessible. Likewise in the guest bath, stealing a bit of space from an adjoining closet allowed it, also, to become accessible. Both the front and rear entry were redesigned with integrated ramps compatible with the architecture of this charming home.
