With this project, we took a storage space above a detached garage and created an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). This involved removing the fixed ladder to the space, adding an exterior staircase and door dormer, improving insulation, sheetrock and smoke detectors for safety. We added a 3 piece bathroom with a shower stall, sink/vanity and toilet and a kitchenette which provided storage and space for a refrigerator and other appliances. Laminate flooring and paint finished the space into a very nice space for a family member, or for future rental income should the need arise.
