Alamo Heights Kitchen

The homeowners wanted to rejuvenate their small kitchen into an open area where good food and family can gather. Removing a wall opened this kitchen to the living room and the light-color cabinetry, walls, backsplash tile, and flooring enhanced the culinary in this home. The kitchen was closed off from the living area by a single load-bearing wall. A 27’x24” LVL was installed when the wall was removed to open up the space. They liked the brightness of their white kitchen and asked to keep their current cabinets. We refinished their existing cabinets and painted them with two tones for added design. A new island was installed with plumbing run to accommodate the new sink and dishwasher appliance. All new fixtures were installed throughout the kitchen and a simple, yet elegant backsplash was added using beveled subway tiles. The homeowners now have a comfortable space where family members and guests can hang out before and after meals, staying out of the way while still interacting with the cooks.
