Canyon Lake Gymnasium

The homeowners wanted to convert a metal agricultural building into a three hoop, short-court basketball court. One basketball hoop was specifically designed for an official three-point goal distance. They wanted to maintain the Pioneer-Style décor and enhance the view of the ranch from both ends of the building. The entire building needed to be insulated and was given spray foam insulation with an R20 rating on the walls and a R30 rating on the ceiling. The iron columns were padded with foam and vinyl to match the column color to maintain a cohesive appearance. Specialized Beech wood floors from Germany were installed over the original concrete floors so that the homeowners were able to have an authentic basketball court. Seven species of rustic hardwood siding were re-stained on the walls and extended four feet up. We needed to blend and create a custom stain in order to achieve a rustic look for the Pioneer-Style décor.
