This renovation project has been years in the making. The couple that owns the home bought it new in the mid 70’s and have enjoyed everything the home has to offer while raising their children. Now that the nest is empty, they made the decision to remain in the house and give it a modern-day update, along with added functionality they were missing in the original design.

The renovation kept the structural integrity of the home and created both private spaces with spaces that encourage socialization with family and friends. Functionality was a main factor in this transformation, with every detail. A coffee bar was added to create more functional counter space, while replacing the storage that the closet gave them. Doorways were widened to provide ample circulation space for entertaining or household chores. Pocket doors allow privacy without obstructing floor space.

The kitchen was given a complete rejuvenation that is the envy of anyone serious about cooking and entertaining. The workspace, while not enlarged, has been designed to offer greater functionality and allow multiple people to cook together. The quartz backsplash adds dramatic elegance to the kitchen and harmonizes the details.
