Exterior Transformation

A classic home in the heart of Ottawa had great bones for a modern upgrade. The simple shapes and stucco exterior lent themselves well to receiving a contemporary face-lift in keeping with the homeowner's style.

Dark windows, grey and natural cedar work together to achieve the perfect balance and a striking transformation.

The existing traditional home received an upgrade by raising the roof line above the garage to achieve a better proportion with the rest of the home and adding a linear black metal detail that wraps the home, making it feel modern and streamlined.

We opted to paint the existing stucco of the home because it was in great shape. We matched the colour to the Hardie Board cement siding and accented with black windows and aluminum details along with natural cedar a the back window.

The home had an existing screen porch which we maintained but gave a face-lift with some beautiful natural red cedar siding. The v-groove siding style bridges the gap between traditional and modern and is a warm accent to the grey stucco and siding.
