The homeowners have lived in their home for 30 years, and had a lot of turfgrass in their front and back yards. They had attended a presentation on water-wise gardening presented by the Center for Resource Conversation and Bill Melvin, founder of Ecoscape, and it inspired them to seek a landscape design that would scale back the amount of grass and increase their ability to grow food.
