This recently built traditional shingle-style house for a family in Amagansett features large open interiors. The main house is designed so that the living room opens to a loft-like chef's kitchen and dining area. The whole first floor opens through a series of French doors to a long covered porch overlooking the gardens and pool. Using traditional materials, details and finishes but keeping the spaces contemporary and open blends the best of both designs.
