Anacortes Staging

One of our favorite staged homes to date, this quaint Anacortes beach house had an amazing open concept that flooded with natural daylight, and held a partial ocen view across the expansive deck. We used this opportunity to bring as much beachy design and style into the main space as possible. Accented with tons of yellows and greys (to complement the indoor shingles, counter tops, and neighboring home color visible through the bay window).

We played off the existing colors in the interior - the reds and blacks in the brick, the warm greys from the indoor shingles, the warm pine wood floors - and styled using a palette of yellow, silver, white and grey.

We accented the space using lush indoor plants, nautical-inspired artwork, and pops of seafoam blue throughout. Bright white curtains supported the creamy white walls, and allowed as much light to filter into the room as possible.

We found furniture and accessories to tie in the Pacific Northwest natural elements - like raw-edge wood tables, fresh-cut hydrangea and hints of cut grass. We added hints of life to the space by integrating magazines, to convey the feeling that this is a livable space, and not a sterile staged...

To bring the beach essence inside, we added shells wherever they fit stylistically. Minimal gold flowers and buds tied in the warm floor and shelf colors, while the shells added pops of bright white throughout.

We designed the master bedroom space using an eclectic mix of mid-century furniture, contemporary patterns, and bold colors.

Bringing the outdoors in, we added beach wood and nautical elements wherever they fit. This small, cramped guest bathroom immediately opened up when we added an orchid in a contemporary vase, along with bright white porcelain decor. We chose a shelf instead of artwork for this space, to show off...

The downstairs, which would be a stand alone apartment, was a challenge. We warmed up the otherwise cold area using nautical colors and a contemporary pattern style. Indoor plants helped break up the large white walls, and fluffy sheepskins strewn across the medium hardwoods helped bring a hygge...

We decided to style the loft as a nursery because of the size and openness to the main space. We brought in poppy, bright colors and mixed them with global-inspired textures and patterns. A wicker reading nook offsets a pair of wicker poufs, all conveying a playful, kids' space.
