This beautiful kitchen and wine bar remodel is a wonderful example of the transitional styled motif of Art Nouveau. The roots of Art Nouveau were actually the precursor to the Arts and Crafts movement. The warm painted walls, marble floors, highly polished granite, simple drapes as the window treatments and the recessed panels for the cabinet doors are all typical for this period of time. This home also had large Japanese artwork on the walls in the family room and the front entrance which also would be required for this period. The cabinetry is all a beaded inset styled cabinetry.

Construction notes for the space planning scheme.

The wall between the kitchen and the family room was opened up and reframed. In order to achieve a beautiful focal point the existing high windows at the current range area were closed up. The doorway was also re-framed. Lastly I was also able to capture the area under the staircase to create a very interesting wine bar which ended up being able to attach to the kitchen high counter at the pass through.
