Wood in a Prairie kitchen is usually defined as a clear wood with simple lines and a recessed panel much like this kitchen in Huntington Beach. The wood in these pictures is a clear Red Birch. It is quite expensive and not too many companies offer this wood due to the high cost. Prairie kitchens also use geometric patterns like in the back splash design shown here. This was a major remodel which involved removing a wall and relocating all doors and windows. The result was a spectacular transformation and the new proud home owners were ready to have their guests over to enjoy the new open floor plan which finally had a dining room area.
