A through-the-wall opening was the added touch in the artist's residence. And the result and effect cannot be underestimated. The 48" ht x 60" length opening in the kitchen wall accomplished the intended, which was to have an airy feel to living spaces without sacrificing function. In fact, the end result created a multi-functional space-enhancing both the living area and the kitchen area. The bar-height opening is finished with a simple wood moulding surround and a butcher block countertop finished in a natural stain.
