The floating staircase in this high-end duplex unit is a lovely feature in itself. However, the space beneath offered the opportunity for storage. The floor area beneath the stair was deep and wide enough to encompass a multi-storage custom built-in unit. The new unit was designed to incorporate a walk-in closet, pull-out pantry cubbies, a broom closet, cabinet storage, and a recessed niche with countertop space.
