Asbury Park Full Home Remodel

Our task was to completely refinish this charming Dutch Colonial house and bring it into the modern-age! We did it with a combination of using updated colors and finishes while respecting the original lines of the house.

We transformed this Family room by putting in a slider to the new deck, creating great entertaining flow. The ceramic tile was used for its durability with the sandy traffic in this Shore town. Covering the ceiling with wooden ceiling panels by Armstrong created a unique and warm color palette.

We carried the wooden ceiling treatment in from the adjoining Family Room (next picture). Using IKEA panels to match the kitchen (lower) cabinets, we had the built in banquets done for fun and cozy dining. Capping it off is the modern LED "O" ring chandelier.

This shot shows kitchen looking to kitchen table and family room with vaulted ceiling beyond. The kitchen table is flanked by built in banquets and lit by a modern "O" LED chandelier. The new cabinets are from IKEA with white quartz counter with a waterfall edge.

We replaced the original and damaged fireplace mangle with one we discovered in a salvage shop. We made it the focal point of the room by using a dramatic blue wall color from Benjamin Moore.

By removing the entry foyer closet, we were able to open up the entry. We used salvaged vintage leaded class side lites and marble floor to mix create a light and bright entry to the modern home.

Here's another view of the entry foyer with marble tile laid in a herringbone pattern. The drama of the tile is enhanced by the beautifully refinished original hardwood floors!

The old and rotting porch deck was replaced with new mahogany! The wainscot ceiling was painted a light and cheery sky blue!

Since the home is near the corrosive effects of the Atlantic ocean's salt water, we used factory finished resin balusters. Continuing to respect the traditional look of the house we used real mahogany railings.

The original house needed some repairs and repainting with modern colors. Plus, two of the porch pillars had been removed so we rebuilt them and added the new balusters & mahogany deck and railings
