Back to the Traditional Future

BEFORE: A small 2 bedroom 1950's era contemporary house was thought to be a demolition candidate in a old neighborhood filled with beautiful, traditional 90 year old homes. Top is front, bottom is rear.

The new front added the large gable, and converted the 3 tiny kitchen window on the front of the old plan into the 3 large windows topped with the arched transom. The kitchen is moved to the rear where it belongs in a traditional home.

Interior fireplace is traditionalized by adding a stone finish.

Rear addition included 2 new bedrooms (one a 1st floor master suite), a new kitchen, and a new Dining Room bay that cantilevers above the new tuck garage. The original chimney divides the old house to the right, and the new to the left in this photo.
