Ballard Twofold
The Ballard Two-Fold, a pair of speculative homes located in the ever-changing neighborhood of Ballard, takes subtle cues from the local vernacular and infuse elements of modernism and simplicity while maintaining a gentle nod towards traditional form.
Positioned on two narrow lots, the two homes are intended to complement each other while retaining their own identity. To accomplish this, the homes share similar scale and form, but possess unique material palettes creating individualism. Both front facades, tall and narrow in proportion, give way to a wonderful outdoor living area displaying the amazing city and sound views.
The floor plan adheres to a traditional layout sequence with the public spaces located at ground level and subsequent spaces/levels increasing in privacy. Interior materials and color schemes were carefully selected to further blur the distinction between modern and traditional design.
