This project began as a raw 3,000 sq. ft. unfinished basement that opened to the backyard. The client wanted us to create a space that broke with the traditional décor of the main house so that it felt like a vacation destination! The program called for a bar, a large seating area, a game area, dance room, fitness room, steam bath and changing area as well as a new outdoor pool.
Our idea was to make all the public spaces open and interconnected with each other with direct views to the outdoors. We placed the private spaces on the interior sheltered from view. The bar became the focal point with connections to the game and lounge areas with operable windows that open to an outdoor counter overlooking the pool.
