This A frame home had a dated dark interior and old kitchen that was all wood and felt too cabin-like for the young family living here. We painted all the wall and ceiling wood white and did a complete kitchen renovation that brought in a contemporary style with rustic touches. The result is a bright open interior. Upstairs the master in the A frame peak, was open to the living space, without any privacy. We added a new wall topped with glass and finished it with a barn door. We also added a barn door to the powder room off the new kitchen, solving the problem of an awkward door swing and reinforcing the modern rustic style.
