The original kitchen was removed including the flooring. The door from the kitchen to the dining/living room was moved to accomodate both the pass through to the dining room and the new cabinet layout. The new design deleted the need for a "nook" table by creating a family work counter and eating bar as an extension of the kitchen into the nook forming a "Z" shaped counter.
