This old backsplash had some weird design elements. We're not sure why this limestone is sticking out in the middle like this, but it's about to get an upgrade!

The upper cabinets were 18 1/2 inches above the countertop, and these were 9 inch tiles. Instead of having a tiny tile or a huge grout line against the cabinet, we opted to cut the tile down to 6 1/8 inches and go with three rows. Looks good, no?

It's often difficult to match the veining on patterned tiles like these. Good thing we like puzzles!
