This space was essentially a blank canvas when we were brought on the job. As the Book Cadillac embodies rich history and unique elements, we didn’t have to look very far. The inspiration was all around us. Having a client who took as much pride in the overall structure as much as her new home, it was easy for us to have the creative freedom to compliment the building. Making sure to accentuate the Neoclassical architecture by playing up the three story arched windows without distracting from the view was key. Instantly we knew black and white marble needed to grace the floors and walls of the space. It made the perfect backdrop for a bold pop of color found in the deep blue velvet sofas flanking the fireplace. We knew it was important for this Detroit lover to enjoy the view and a glass of wine at the end of the day, and thought there was no better spot than soaking in a freestanding tub placed in front of the third story arch. If you are fortunate enough to be a guest here, you may realize you set your cocktail glass down on an almost century old piece of architecture, and that is something to brag about.
