Bowness Townhome

A 70's townhome was transformed by opening up the main floor to create a functional kitchen, dining space and beautiful sight line to the river out back. The sunken in original family room with wood burning fireplace was raised to allow for a large island and improve the flow of the main living space.

In order to open fridge door fully, a narrow 'filler' is put to good use as a spice/oil pullout. Pantry with solid pull out drawers makes everything more accessible.

The old fireplace was removed so we could raise this 80's sunken living room to create a home for a small dining table and new gas fireplace with option for artwork or TV above. Travertine tile with a floating wood mantle ties into the kitchen elements.

In the master bedroom, we removed a wall so that the original small closet could be turned into a wall to wall 14' closet with japanese inspired sliders.

Master bathroom had an old yellow tub and single vanity. Full shower with travertine tile, rock mosaic and rain shower head and niche for shampoo.

The old fireplace and brick was deleted so that we could raise the floor to be level with the entire main living area.

This was the view from the front to the back of the town home. The original powder room on the right side was turned 180 degrees and the left kitchen wall was removed to open up the space and flow to the back.

By removing the 2 walls that enveloped the kitchen, we were able to create a much more functioning space.
