Bright Bed & Bath with Classic Style
This bedroom was originally covered in a well-loved floral wallpaper and used the same pattern fabric for a canopy and bed covering. Early on we determined to selectively place a new pattern throughout the bedroom, giving a nod to the former design, and pulling in an east asian influence that is reflective of our clients' travel in the region. The pattern was repeated on the four-post bed, in window coverings and in the bathroom as a piece of wall art. Our overall goal was to create a light and airy bedroom, using blue to coordinate with the rest of the wing. Some furniture pieces are original, while others were modified to match including end table re-sizing and finishing, and custom finishing the dresser to match the bed. Clear based lamps add to the airy feel of this exquisite bedroom.
The bathroom was also originally covered in wallpaper and some elements were required to stay, such as the white and grey tile floor and tub surround. We modified a sink cabinet, uncovering it by removing a dated upper cabinet enclosure. Refinishing the vanity base with a vibrant blue paint and adding new hardware gave it new life. New lighting was selected and the blue pattern used in the bedroom was brought in as a window treatment and wall art above the jacuzzi bathtub.
