Brookline MA 2013 Condo Remodel

My clients wanted to transform their new Brookline apartment into an open and modern space where they could entertain and enjoy their new city life. The scope of this job included a full kitchen gut including removing a bearing wall, built in cabinetry in the living room and expanding the master bedroom to include his and her walk in closets.

The mono chromatic teal in the dining room creates a dramatic frame for the new open and bright city kitchen. The oak bar top finished with 3 coats of tung oil helps soften the transition

New opening in dining room. The built-in oven and gas cook top proved to be a tremendous challenge to make fit. The tolerances were razor thin and it took a team effort to make this piece work together

The new open bar top made from reclaimed oak from Longleaf Lumber in Cambridge MA makes a wonderful transition from the new kitchen to the dining room.

Notice how the wall cabinet that holds the microwave is held out 2 inches in order to fit. This also creates a nice detail at the ceiling
Small details
Notice how the trim and cabinets come together seamlessly. The trim was sprayed with Benjamin Moore Impervo with a color matched paint to tie everything together

Unique backsplash with green, purple and lavender glass tiles.
One off mosaic
One detail that I love to do is to use paint grade ceiling trim on the factory cabinets. This enables us to prep the trim properly and then finish it off with airless spray. This trim was sprayed w/ 2 coats of Benjamin Moore Impervo Satin water based.

My client wanted to transform their living room into a place where they could relax and watch television and also have room for storage and display their books. We used the existing spaces next to the fireplace to create built in cabinetry that looks as though it has always been there
