Bucks County Garden
This Bucks County garden features terraces, walls, and plantings that were coordinated with renovations to the existing house, barn, and pool. The new terrace features large irregular flagstone slabs and stone seating walls with a small water feature pouring out the end of the wall to provide sound and interest. Steps lead down from the pool deck to the lower terrace where the newly installed hot tub is concealed from view by natural stone walls and plantings. The newly installed plantings will provide many seasons of lush colors, textures, and fragrances.
In addition to creating more interesting and useable spaces, the design had to address significant water issues. Innovative designs effectively handled the water issues though grading and actually utilize the water as an asset by catching it in a submerged 1,500 gallon cistern for watering a large vegetable plot.
