This project was a rear addition / kitchen that was developed to maximize light, privacy and to enhance the rear yard connection. The project goals were to serve a family of four, but also to be adaptable to accommodate large parties of 20 or more, for hosting extended family during holidays. The design goals were to embrace high-contrast, dramatic design that very livable. The rooflines of the addition were cantilevered to provide maximum deck coverage from rain, and to minimize the prominence of the existing home rear facade.
