The program for this home was to add a basement, new windows, and new exterior cladding to an existing 2-story home. The new basement includes a media room, playroom and spare bedroom with en-suite bath. The existing windows were replaced with Bonelli aluminum windows. The existing shake shingles were removed and replaced with a rainscreen system composed of 1x6 ipe boards, and 4' x 10' Swisspearl sheets. Both are cut on 16" modules so that they meet seemlessly at outside corners. The IPE has been treated to maintain it's medium brown tone.
