Cape Cod Kitchen
NKBA-MN, 3rd Place Award
Designed by Rosemary Merrill
Photography by Susan Gilmore
Thoughtful attention to detail was given to the kitchen transformation of this 1940's classic Cape Cod home. The kitchen had been remodeled in the 1980's when a family room was added off the kitchen creating a design challenge, with incorporating the large header between the kitchen and family room. Wall panels and a lower cabinet framed in with overhead panels resolved the issue and did not compromise the overall look of the newly designed kitchen.
Design details included: painted white inset cabinetry, dark soapstone countertops, gray glazed subway tile, glass display cabinets with iron lanterns on adjacent panels all added the charm this classic Cape Cod kitchen needed.
