Caribbean Inspired Island Architecture

Nestled among swaying palms and a seaside golf course, this Caribbean inspired home defines casual living in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The owner's dream was to design a home where they could entertain friends and out of town guests in a relaxed, tropical atmosphere. Outdoor living was an important component of the overall design of the home.
With its white-washed stucco walls and dark brown trim under a mill-finished metal roof, the home borrows elements of island influence, characteristic of the West Indies. Key features include exposed rafter tails, bead board soffit panels and timber brackets supporting pergola-style beams. The sun-splashed, white stucco veneer is complemented by dusty green painted louvers, privacy screens and balcony railings.
Overlooking lush green fairways and a shimming lagoon is an open air garden pavilion, settled underneath an upper sunset pavilion. To the right is the owner's courtyard with a private spa retreat and cushioned seating around an outdoor fireplace. To the left is a dining terrace, with teak wood table, walk-up grill and bubbling fountain.
Once inside the home, you feel as though you are away on vacation. The vaulted, sun-lit great room welcomes you with rich wood finishes and colorful accents against the pale white backdrop of smooth, plaster walls. Throughout the home, the many colors of the Caribbean, such as pale green, aqua blue, tropical rose, vibrant orange and natural sand stimulate the senses with the relaxed feeling of an island lifestyle.
