“A once in a lifetime project!” After 7 years in design and review, we broke ground on an historic Avenue Del Mar home. 95 caissons anchor this 7500 square foot home and raised the floor height 8 feet to gain ocean views over the sea wall. With the majority of the beach elevation able to open completely to the shoreline, each detail was constructed like a boat to weather the beach front environment for a long life. Every single exterior and interior wall, except a mechanical closet, is stained or painted paneling, weaved together with over 415 box beams, and more than 200 gallons of marine grade epoxy sealer to stabilize every key point. Every inch of the historic property was efficiently planned for fun, livable use to attract the many grandkids, including beach front wading pool, sport court, 2200 square foot guest house, and a deck top spa.
