Downtown Ipswich has some of the oldest homes in the country. The old John Sparke's Tavern on North Main Street, recently completed as two tasteful, renovated condos by Clarke Associates, was one such property. In the back was enough yard space for a small carriage house that would make a perfect little cottage in the condominium community. The exterior facade is made of white clapboards and cedar shingles. There is a brick walkway and stone retaining wall that make up the designed hardscape. The deep green carriage style doors complete the cottage aesthetic.
