These clients weren't new to us — we'd already renovated their Riverside Drive townhouse, so this project came with an established shorthand. What they wanted for their new Central Park West apartment was almost a paradox: a home that read as polished and grown-up, but invited you to take your shoes off and put your feet up the moment you walked in. And whatever we did, the Central Park view needed to stay the star of every room, not compete with it.

We built the palette around that constraint — warm neutrals in taupe, sand, and putty, layered with soft walnut case goods and a custom walnut desk that anchors the study. Soft linen and top-grain leather textiles do the work of making a polished apartment feel touchable rather than precious; antique brass shows up consistently across chandeliers, sconces, and round mirrors to tie three bedrooms and three and a half baths into one considered story. Creamy, super-sheer drapery frames the windows so the park view stays dominant while still filtering the light that floods the space.

Despite COVID-era delays running through the middle of the project, we delivered on time and on budget — a polished, warm apartment with the Central Park view holding court in every room, exactly as the brief asked.
