The original oak cabinets had been stained a dark brown. The doors had been taken to be stained by a handyman who never returned them. The owner decided to switch from the previous dark color to a cherry stain to warm and brighten up the space. The corner glass door cabinets with lights inside help to distract from the fact that this is a very narrow kitchen. The lazy susan cabinets in the lower corners make it much easier to access that space. The original kitchen had no pantry, but one was added in the new kitchen.
