Walnut Traditional
At first glance, the new kitchen does not look much different from the original kitchen. However as you look closer, you'll see many differences. The original cabinets were a reddish-brown oak with arched top detailing. The new cabinets are walnut wood with square top detailing. The new island has been changed from a front opening with an overhang to a double back preparation island for additional storage. A window seat was built in the alcove to relocate the breakfast bar eating area. An under used desk area was replace with cabinets and two mini-refrigerators to allow for the children to get drinks without being in the main work area. The microwave was relocated to the wall oven stack. The original microwave did not vent out. A new exhaust vent was run on top of the cabinets (behind the large crown molding) and out the side wall. The neutral backsplash tile was dressed up with a accent ribbon and cooktop medallion.
