As a common theme to our area, the client recently purchased this home knowing the kitchen was the only thing that needed renovated. We made it through a few challenges. First, the laminate had to stay which meant we had to keep the original cabinet foot print and work the then over-bearing red hue into the color scheme. Second, the attention grabbing floor and quartz counter chosen required the remaining materials to rather simple. How can we take simple and boldly establish our ideas for the space? Form and contrast. As simple as it is, I believe this may have been one of the most satisfying backsplash designs I ever conceptualized. Unfortunately, the full effect will have to wait until the slide in range works it's way in at a later date. Everything we wanted out of form was shaker, so the door style was an easy choice. The two-piece tall crown tipped the space into the realm of transitional to agree with architecture, location, and age of the home. These are just a few of the most notable features earning this space the very desired title of "timeless." As for the title of project, well... it was the name of my favorite photo from the shoot, so Chicken and Wine it is! ;)
