A multi-staged whole house renovation to a center hall colonial in Bethesda, MD. Built in the late 60’s, the house maintained a vintage vibe with mauve decor, poorly executed built-ins and a small Brady Bunch kitchen with an inefficient layout. The homeowner desired to keep the traditional center hall feel with multiple single service rooms. We were also limited to staying within the original footprint of the house - so instead of renovating the space by adding on we designed a breakfast nook to gain function and light in the kitchen. Arched doorways were added where original square molding existed, a cement cast hood was installed above the kitchen range - the whole house gained a bit of Gustavian flair.
