Clyde Hill Living Room Remodel
The Clyde Hill remodel clients had a large, open living room with expansive twenty foot tall ceilings. While the space was impressive in size, it's main focal point, a large floor to ceiling stone fireplace was overbearing and dark. In an effort to brighten the space and make the tall ceilings the focus, we replaced the stone chimney drywall, increased the size of a large bank of windows, updated the paint with new, neutral white painted walls, and added matching white built-ins on either side of the fireplace. The coffered ceiling had two critical points for layout the drove the overall spacing of each coffered panel. The coffered ceilings needed to center on both the fireplace and the staircase while maintaining square panels. Detailed measurements of the entire space were taken and put into a drafting program to plot out the ceiling layout. New lights were added throughout and a new walnut fireplace mantel with stacked stone capped off the new gas fireplace. To this day, the Clyde Hill living room has been one of the most challenging and rewarding projects.
