Contemporary Bay Area Residence
Settled in Orinda, California we designed the home’s interior with an aesthetic that is both sophisticated, and light and airy. Streamlined and rich in character, the formal dining room is intimate and defined by an Antoine Proulx table, A. Rudin chairs, and a pair of drum shades by Barbara Barry. Clean lines and an Ochre chandelier add to the understated elegance of the living room which is grounded by darker pieces selected to contrast the light walls. A Kyle Bunting hide rug adorns the floor, and a round A. Rudin coffee table provides continuity to the space. The walnut hearth mixed with Caesarstone and curved sofa by Holly Hunt are additional highlights and the Coup d'etat chair is a nod to mid century design. We devised a contemporary kitchen that doesn’t sacrifice warmth. The kitchen features a spacious island with ample seating and a gorgeous custom range hood. A cross extension table and leather chairs by Bottega produce an inviting element to the kitchen nook. The family room is plush, welcoming and bright. We designed the room to accentuate the large windows and chose color blocked window panels which we then complimented with light pops of yellow in the room.
