Contemporary Kitchen | Distinctive Peninsula

This homeowner loved the comfort and design of her modest size home, and the kitchen was a key component to preparing, serving and entertaining --simultaneously! But it had been impractical with a central island that guests congregated around, while obstructing the traditional work triangle. To solve the dilemma of function while maintaining the element of socializing with guests, the island was removed along with a portion of the wall to open up space. A peninsula was oriented to run parallel to the main refrigerator and range, with the sink and beverage center at the end of the peninsula.

The new kitchen complimented the contemporary style of the house that used natural elements such as wood, metal and water. A European bi-fold style of cabinetry, natural looking quartz countertops mirroring fresh concrete, a 2 level peninsula with a wood top, stainless steel appliances, and a unique design of floating cabinets above satin etched glass that reflected a backlit aqua color and teardrop glass backsplash resembling falling water.

This kitchen design is a very creative use of space that solved a functional challenge while presenting a unique and one-of a-kind kitchen full of glowing ambiance.
