The challenge was to bring functionality to the new space and accommodate this growing busy family while at the same time creating an environment that is classic, clean and beautiful using materials including marble, wood, metal and glass. Carrara Marble was used for the countertops throughout. The highly functional bar area features a second sink, beverage center, wine refrigeration and storage which keeps the prep and cooking area from becoming overcrowded in this busy home. The walk-in pantry has open wall shelving for easy access and visibility to items and it is just as beautiful as the main kitchen as marble tops, wood flooring, metal wall brackets and glass are continued into this utility space. The area to the left of the refrigerator is a landing area for papers and mail so it is easy to keep the main kitchen free of clutter. The island is the focal point of this classic style kitchen, a place where everyone can gather and enjoy the beautiful light filled space.
