Contemporary meets traditional
We’re in LOVE with this contemporary traditional two-tone navy and white kitchen! This is the perfect look whether you want a farmhouse, Hamptons or classic English scheme. The white cabinetry along the rear wall ensures it isn’t top heavy while the navy kitchen island grounds the style. The incorporation of gold handles, floating shelves and dark woodgrain flooring reinforces the traditional feel.
Designed by Pieta Fletcher, the client fell in love with the idea of floating shelves in Melteca Salvaged Planked Elm over solid timber, which was also used in the under stairs cupboard. “The under stairs cupboard was the trickiest as the ceiling was really low at the back, so I utilised the end space for a good amount of wine storage,” Pieta says. “The laundry has a heating unit with underfloor pipes to be concealed in a cupboard. This was in a fixed place, so I had to work around this and incorporate it to look part of the overall laundry, while also fitting laundry hampers and appliances.”
